Sean Oliver was born in Baltimore Md, and picked up the bass when he was 12. He started playing rock and hip hop and got into jazz through the influential Jaco Pastorious and Weather Report. Sean went to study at Berklee College of music where he graduated with a focus on performance and education. While at Berklee Sean studied with renowned bassists Whit Browne, Ron Mahdi, Victor Bailly, Steve Bailly, Victor Wooten, and John Patitucci.
Sean now resides in Boston where he heads his own group and performs with an array of other talented musicians. An in demand bassist and performer, Sean is also an avid music educator which includes private lessons, tutoring, and music and movement classes with Little Groove.
